TagSnap ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the TagSnap mobile application ("App").

Information We Collect

TagSnap is designed with privacy first. We collect minimal information:

• Vehicle Data: License plate numbers, registration expiry dates, state, vehicle nicknames, and vehicle type that you enter or scan. This data is stored locally on your device only.
• Camera & Photos: When you choose the AI scan feature, the selected image is transmitted securely to our server-side AI processing service to extract registration information. TagSnap does not intentionally retain the image after the request is processed.
• Subscription Data: If you purchase TagSnap Pro, Apple processes the payment. We receive only a confirmation of your subscription status — no payment details.

How We Use Information

• To provide the core app functionality (vehicle tracking, renewal reminders)
• To process registration tag images through AI vision (images are processed and immediately discarded)
• To send local push notifications for renewal reminders (scheduled on your device)

Data Storage

Your saved vehicle records are stored in the App's local storage on your device. TagSnap does not maintain a customer database of saved vehicle records. Deleting the App removes those locally stored records, subject to normal device backup behavior controlled by Apple and your device settings.

AI Image Processing

When you choose the scan feature, the image is sent to a server-side AI service solely to extract registration information such as the expiry date, plate number, state, and vehicle type. TagSnap does not intentionally save the image or extracted result on its server after responding to the App. Service infrastructure may process transient request data as necessary to provide and secure the service. The extracted result is returned for your review before it is saved locally on your device.

Third-Party Services

• Apple App Store / StoreKit: Handles subscription purchases. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
• AI Processing Service: Processes a scan image only when you request AI extraction. The image is used to return the requested result and is not used by TagSnap for advertising.
• State DMV Websites: When you tap "Renew Now," you are directed to your state's official DMV website. Their privacy policies apply.

Push Notifications

TagSnap schedules renewal reminder notifications locally on your device. These notifications do not require a network connection and are not sent through external servers. You can disable notifications at any time in your iPhone Settings.

Children's Privacy

TagSnap is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control. You can delete all data by deleting the TagSnap app from your device. To delete your subscription data, cancel your subscription through Apple's subscription management.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by updating the "Last updated" date above.
